I really like blazers. They are such a versatile piece. A woman should have at least one good blazer in her wardrobe. They make every outfit look more polished and put together. You can wear it to work with a pair of dress pants. I also love the look of a blazer with a pair of jeans. If you are one of the lucky people that can wear jeans to work on Fridays or maybe any other day, then a blazer added to the outfit will make you still look work professional.
It is also perfect to take from work to a night out. Pairing a nice patterned blazer with a basic dress, a long blazer with some leggings, or a nice blazer with a pair of jeans are all great night out outfits. It looks nice but still relaxed and can come off if you are in a place where it can be hot. It is lightweight enough that you can avoid having to go through a coat check but yet still feel warm and bundled with the blazer.
A blazer can really add a pop to any outfit. You can pair a plain blazer with a patterned shirt or dress or have a plain dress or top and pair it with a patterned blazer. Houndstooth is one such pattern that have become popular for blazers. I love the classic look. I have seen floral blazers which are probably best in the spring time when the weather is getting warmer but it is still brisk and cool. I have seen blazers in various colors such as white, pink, blue, orange, etc which takes an outfit to the next level outside of the traditional black. Today though I am focusing on plaid.
If you have been following me for the last couple of months then you know that I have developed a big love and fascination with plaid. It is the kind of print that can be colorful or basic. It comes in several patterns and colors, comes in traditional plaid, buffalo check, or even a gingham plaid. I love the preppy feel it adds to any outfit.
I recently picked up this plaid blazer at Target on clearance. It is by their Wild Fable line. It is no longer available but I have listed several other options below.
