It is no secret that clothing and fashion can be expensive. It can be easy to drop lots of money each season. I am sharing with you ways that I save money while trying to stay fashionable, glam, and chic. I am sharing some of the best stores to find great deals and sales and ones that offer some of the best rewards and perks. Most of my shopping is online but occasionally I will shop in the store as well.
1. Shop the outlets.
I have found that the outlet versions of the stores have just as good of quality as the regular versions. Loft Outlet, JCrew Factory, Talbots, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Gap all have some great outlet options where you can find clothes sometimes up to half of the originals. There are plenty of other outlet options but these are some of the ones I love. The regular stores can be really expensive but the outlet or factory versions become affordable. Usually, the items offered at the outlet or factory are different than the regular versions, or have options similar in style or pattern as those in the regular store but at a reduced price. If I was to go shopping with $50 I can often get multiple items in these stores compared to maybe just one items at the regular stores. The quality is also very comparable to the regular versions and fits that are similar as well.
Another option is that of Nordstrom Rack, Saks off 5th, or Bloomingdale Outlet. The great thing about these stores is that they sell the same items that were at the regular department stores but moved the unsold merchandise to the outlet or rack versions. There are some great items for great prices at these stores. There are great designer sections where you can pick up your favorite, expensive designers at a greatly reduced price.
2. Shop the sales.
There are some stores that have some amazing sales. Some go throughout the year and some are seasonally. These are some of the ones I have been shopping lately: JCrew and JCrew Factory have been having up to 50% off their sale items. JCrew constantly has some sale on their merchandise. Loft often has 50% off their sales items. They have sporadic sales such as $35 dresses or 40% off their sweaters. Nordstrom currently has a great sale going on right now where so many great items are up to 50% off. Of course they have their big Fall and Spring sales on their NEW merchandise compared to the sales now that is on the older merchandise. I have so many amazing sales on shoes and sweaters, some linked below. Old Navy and Gap also tends to have great sales or extra savings such as Old Navy Super Cash or Gap Cash. I like to shop Kohl's with Kohl's Cash for extra savings.
3. Benefits and Rewards
Like previously stated, there are some stores like Old Navy, Gap and Kohl's that gives you "cash". Basically, these are perks that when you spend a certain amount of money you will be giving a coupon worth a certain amount of money to spend. Sometimes, like Old Navy, you need to spend at least $25. For Kohl's, you have no minimum you need to buy. Nordstrom has implemented a reward program. JCrew and JCrew Factory utilize the same rewards system. You can earn points towards rewards for every dollar you spend and then earn a $5 reward coupon.
If you sign up for the JCrew and JCrew Factory rewards program (which is free), you can also get free shipping online through them. Nordstrom has free shipping and returns all the time, no rewards program needed. Loft, Old Navy, Gap, and American Eagle all have a free pick up in the store where you can buy and pick it up without having to pay shipping. At American Eagle you can reserve it in the store and then go try it on before you even pay for it. Kohl's also has a ship to store option that is free shipping
I love the Red Card through Target. They have both the credit card and debit card options and we have the debit card in our family. With the red card you can get 5% off with EVERY purchase!. You can get free shipping or free ship to store always when you use the Red Card. With the debit card you don't need a credit check, you don't need to pay interest as it comes right out of your account as if you were to use your own debit card. Plus you can pick out a school you would like Target to give to with your 5% savings.
If you do have store credit cards then there are several of its own perks. I don't really have any store cards so I can't really attest to that. Many of them also give you reward points when you make a certain amount of purchases.
On top of finding the best sales and deals I like to utilize rewards programs for extra savings. I try to avoid paying shipping fees by utilizing free shipping options. At random times stores will offer free shipping online and I love to utilize these sales to make my purchases. I will also order in bulk to get free shipping. Most stores will offer free shipping if you spend a certain amount of money, usually at least $50.
Honestly, I typically do not buy anything on full price. I shop sales and find what I like from the sales. At some point your favorite items are bound to go on sale. This is what I wait for to maximize my money and get the most out of my dollar.
I promise to keep sharing with you the best deals and prices. I can be found on multiple social media sites. Keep following along or sign up in the contact form to stay in the know of my latest posts and updates.
