So as some of you noticed, last week I was Week 27 and here I am posting Week 29. No I did not flunk out of grade school math. Well let me start from the beginning...
As most of you know, your original due date calculation is based on the start of your last period. After you get pregnant you go to the doctor at around Week 8 and they will do an ultrasound. When I went for my 8 week ultrasound I was back in Chicago and they told me I was measuring about a week smaller. When I transferred to the doctor out in Savannah, we have been trying repeatedly to get the ultrasound records with no such luck. I have tried and the doctor has tried several times. We received everything BUT the ultrasound.
I have had a couple other ultrasounds since then and while I have been here. I still measured a bit small than the time the doctor office had (they were still going by my period time). Without my first ultrasound there was still some confusion about my actual due date and how far along I should be.
This past Wednesday I went for my 28 week appointment. This was a big one where I had to get the glucose test, rhogam shot, anatomy ultrasound, and regular doctor visit. Everything looked good during my scan and the baby was measuring at almost 29 weeks. After meeting with the doctor, the doctor confirmed that I was right on track to be delivering November 16. If according to my very first doctor appointment and ultrasound I was supposed to be due around November 23.
I am very excited about this news. I can't say I am one of those women that loves being pregnant. I will admit that I feel better this pregnancy than I did with Aubrey and I attribute working out to be the reason why. I still very anxious and emotional, I feel big and bloated every day, most of my first trimester was spent with bad heartburn and nausea, and now I am just very tired and alot of aches and pains in my legs and back. I am excited for our little baby to come and am also excited for it all to be over and I can recover back to my old self. Part of the reason why I work out at least 4 days a week every week is not only to keep the baby weight off but also to make recovery easier. I miss my old clothes as well :( Selfish...I know. The new year is starting to look so bright.
