Hi, I'm Jena! Welcome to my blog. I am a wife, social worker, and most importantly a mom to 2 wonderful daughters: Aubrey and Claire, as well as 2 dogs and 2 cats. We recently made the move from Chicago to southern living in Savannah. I have been an avid blog reader and social media user, however I always felt like something was missing. All the pictures are women who are perfectly manicured looking, super thin and fit, impeccable makeup and hair, and of course looked stunning everyday in all their outfits, or at least that is what the perceeptions is. As a fulltime working mom to a toddler, I know this is not always the truth! I live by the motto of feeling confident and being able to feel like yourself but also being able to keep it low key, low cost. I want to show the perfectly imperfect moment. This is a place for me to share. I want to capture those moments of mommyhood, wifehood, independence. I will capture those moments with my daughter. I want my readers to feel that they aren't alone. I want my readers to feel a connection, to have those shared experiences . So why did I start a blog in a market that is already saturated? Well, for one, I feel I keep seeing the same outfits and pictures over and over again. I believe in doing something different. I want to inspire in a different way rather than just keep showing a bunch of pictures of clothes that I don't own and wouldn't buy. Another reason is that most of the girls are "skinny-minny" girls. They are all gorgeous with perfect bodies and perfectly manicured hair, but lets be honest. This is not reality. I do not have the perfect body. I have cellulite. I have a butt. I have hips, and I am proud of my hips because these hips gave birth! I am not an XS or even a S. I am a M. I wear a size 8, not a size 2. Most women are not a size 2 or a XS/S. Most women are closer shaped like me and I want to inspire the "most women". We recently had a life update as of April 2019. For the first 30+ years of our lives we lived in Chicago. We felt we needed a change and so we picked up and moved to the south. I found a job in Beaufort, SC area and we found a house in Savannah GA. Oh, and we did all this while pregnant with another baby girl due in November 2019. We are very excited for this new chapter and journey and are so far loving our new territory. We are especially loving being so close to the beach. |
