Down here in Savannah, it has been pretty cold. Especially in the evenings the temps can really drop to the freezing or near freezing temps. Add some hard wood floors and the house can really have a chill. We are very happy our house came with a fireplace! This is our first winter at this house and we have been taking advantage of the ability to make a fire.
Aubrey and Claire have really been enjoying it as well. They have regularly been asking for a fire. Aubrey especially has really been all cozy about it. They take their videos near it on the floor and try to get all warm. Aubrey has asked for the Disney Favorites lullaby album to be played on the TV. She listens to it from the iTunes app each night to help her fall asleep. The indoor fire has really gotten her feeling all cozy.
I didn’t want them sitting on the floor which can get dirty so I was on a mission to find some poufs. The problem is that we have two dogs and they often think things like that are beds for them. To combat this, I wanted to find a pouf that was a litte bit higher off the ground. A floor pillow or a bean bag type pouf just would not cut it. As these are items I plan on keeping out rather than storing the, I wanted them to be functional and pretty.
I found these jute poufs from Walmart. They are only $35 and I am really liking the way they look. I think the girls will really enjoy sitting on them. Next I need to find some roasting sticks for some marshmallows, per the request of Aubrey. These will be a great way for the girls to be able to safely sit up close and roast their marshmallows.
I have linked several other cute poufs also found at Walmart.
